On 5 June, Kozloduy NPP, the largest producer of electricity in Bulgaria, marked the World Environment Day with two events planned in the ecological calendar of the nuclear power plant for 2020. This year, the theme of the international event, which is celebrated in over 100 countries, was dedicated to biodiversity with the slogan “Time for Nature.” The day was specially chosen for the opening of a mobile thematic photo exhibition with photos from the competition “Kozloduy NPP and Nature – Coexistence” held at the plant. The photographs in the exhibition presented the richness and beauty of the biological diversity in the area around the nuclear plant. The celebration of the international environmental event continued with the planting of red maple in the Alley of Ecology, located between the House of Culture and the Sports and Health Complex in the town of Kozloduy. This was another symbolic gesture of the nuclear power plant's consistent care for nature conservation. Earlier this year, Kozloduy NPP employees had the opportunity to demonstrate personal commitment to environmental initiatives through their inclusion in the World Tree Day –21 May, with which once again they contributed to a greener and cleaner environment.
