KOZLODUY NPP IS PREPARING A PUBLIC DISCUSSION OF THE EIA REPORT ON a FACILITY FOR TREATMENT AND CONDITIONING OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE WITH HIGH VOLUME REDUCTION FACTOR

In pursuance of the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act, Kozloduy NPP Plc. management herewith informs all stakeholders - natural persons and legal entities, that it plans the construction of a Facility for treatment and conditioning of radioactive waste with high volume reduction factor.

Environmental Protection Act
NOTIFIES
all stakeholders - natural persons and legal entities, that it organizes
PUBLIC DISCUSSION MEETINGS
on the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA Report) with all
attachments therein, for investment proposal:
Facility for treatment and conditioning of radioactive waste with high volume reduction factor at Kozloduy NPP
The investment proposal is funded by the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund for Units 1-4, administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and is co-funded by Kozloduy NPP.
The supply of this facility aims at ensuring the processing, volume reduction, immobilization and packaging of low and medium level radioactive waste (category 2a), so that they are in suitable form for long term storage.
The public discussions meetings are to be held on:
26.09.2013 at 10.30 h in the Municipal Club in Miziya, 4 Petko Bankov str.;
27.09.2013 at 10.30 h in the House of Culture in Kozloduy, 4 Hristo Botev str.
The EIA Report and the attachments therein, including the Compatibility Assessment Report under art. 99a, paragraph 1 of the Environmental Protection Act, are available to the interested parties every working day in the following locations:
• The building of MEW - Sofia, 67 William Gladstone str.;
• The building of the Environment and Water Regional Inspectorate - Vratsa, 81 Ekzarh Yossif str.;
• The building of Kozloduy Municipality - Kozloduy, 13 Hristo Botev str.;
• House of Culture - Kozloduy, 4 Hristo Botev str.;
• The building of Miziya Municipality - Miziya, 25-27 Georgi Dimitrov str., 1st floor Centre for services to the population.

Written statements can be submitted in room 104 in the building of Kozloduy Municipality, in the building of Miziya Municipality, as well as in the locations where access to the EIA Report and the attachments therein is provided, as announced above, or during the public discussion meetings.
